Public Surveillance Act

LES-2015:1

It is hereby and henceforth legal for Public Security Services (PSSs) and the National Police Force(NPF) to install, use and maintain visual, auditory and informational surveillance systems in public areas. Provided that:

  1. PSS’s and the NPF do not publicise any of the data they record in a manner that may endanger the safety and security of any individual, group, body or organisation within the borders of this country.
  2. PSS’s and the NPF use the data they record for the purpose of possible legal proceedings against perpetrators of crime and those that violate the laws of this sovereign nation.
  3. PSS’s and the NPF do not release this information to any individual, group, body or organisation of foreign origin or loyalty.
  4. PSS’s and the NPF make the information available for use only to individuals, groups of bodies within their organisation, and other similar, authorised organisations.
