Public Surveillance Act
LES-2015:1
It is hereby and henceforth legal for Public Security Services (PSSs) and the National Police Force(NPF) to install, use and maintain visual, auditory and informational surveillance systems in public areas. Provided that:
- PSS’s and the NPF do not publicise any of the data they record in a manner that may endanger the safety and security of any individual, group, body or organisation within the borders of this country.
- PSS’s and the NPF use the data they record for the purpose of possible legal proceedings against perpetrators of crime and those that violate the laws of this sovereign nation.
- PSS’s and the NPF do not release this information to any individual, group, body or organisation of foreign origin or loyalty.
- PSS’s and the NPF make the information available for use only to individuals, groups of bodies within their organisation, and other similar, authorised organisations.
