Princess Marguerite de Courtenay (born 1993) is a Braslander courtier. She is the daughter of Prince Paul de Courtenay.

After finishing her studies, she was invited to serve at Court as lady-in-waiting to Queen Ludovika. She has become very close to the queen and can be frequently seen joining her at official events.

Marguerite was the center of a scandal in 2016. On March of that year it was announced that she was engaged to marry Prince Peter of Brasland, the King's second cousin. The prince was expected to assume an active role within the royal family and it was hoped that, due to his increasing fame as a playboy, a marriage to a respectable girl would make him settle down. He reluctantly accepted and proposed to Marguerite, who was considered an ideal candidate. Her parents encouraged her to accept, honored by a marriage to the royal house. She agreed with great hesitation, mostly to please her family, but by that time she had already fallen in love with someone else. Barely a month passed when Marguerite and Peter realized that a marriage between them was doomed to fail. They were friends but were not in love with each other. On May the engagement was broken without further explanation. A month later, much to the delight of those who follow Court gossips, it was announced that the princess was engaged to Duke Winrich von Kerlich, a member of Brasland's premier noble family. They had been close to each other since December 2015. The news were accompanied by a wave of publicity and malicious comments. The princess, who has always kept a low profile, was very upset with the unwanted publicity and has withdrawn from Court ever since. It is expected that she will reassume her duties within the Queen's household after her wedding and honeymoon, when the scandal has passed.
