The Democratic Republic of Mastropa (Mastropan: Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία της Μαστρόπας, tr. Laiki Dimokratia tis Mastropas) is an historically-important Achaian nation situated at the junction of Eshaya and Fryth. Founded by Achaian explorers more than 2000 years ago, Mastropa takes its name from its first city, Mastropolis, which commanded the Achaian trade networks of the Lefkos Basin for more than five centuries. The current capital of Mastropa is Tsoulio.

History
Government and Politics
Since 1279 AV, Mastropa has been governed by the democratically-elected Vouli. Vouleftai are directly elected and represent specific districts. The vouleftai vote among themselves to appoint the epistatis, who wields executive power, and the proedros, who directs the Vouli in debate and represents the Vouli as a collective body.
The current epistatis is Zinovios Mesolongias, the leader of Mastropa Archei (MA), whose party was elected to power four years ago on a platform of regaining Mastropan political dominance on the world stage. Prior to this shift in voters' priorities, the Vouli had been dominated since its inception by Nomoi tou Oikou (NO), which advocates an almost-exclusive focus on economic strength in order to weather political changes both at home and abroad. Other prominent parties in the Vouli include Komma Armonia Achaioi (KAA), which desires cooperation between Mastropa and all other Achaian states and has previously called for the formation of an Achaian Federation, and Iero tis Makarias (IM), which represents the Makarian faith in government and has become increasingly dominated by Universalist elements in recent years.
