Megas Quaestor

The Megas Quaestor, or Lord High Chancellor, is a senior and important functionary in the government of Diadochia. He is the second highest ranking of the Great Officers of the Realm, ranking after only the Prōtomagistros. The Megas Quaestor is appointed by the Sovereign on the advice of the Prime Minister.

The Megas Quaestor is a member of the Cabinet and the Privy Council and, by law, is responsible for the efficient functioning and independence of the courts, he is also ceremonial head of the judiciary in Diadochia, as Lord Chief Justice and the presiding judge of the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice, the day to day running of the latter post is overseen by the Chancellor of the High Court respectively.

The Megas Quaestor is also the custodian of the Great Seal.
