Esceen, officially the Federation of Esceen, is a nation located within New Zealandia. It is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Guy Hawkes with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 2.029 billion Esceenians (estimation) have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often. It has the second largest population in the region (the largest being Tattland by a small margin), however the area Esceen occupies is quite small for the amount of population. Esceen would be considered a First World Country. The Esceenian Government holds control over the entirety of Western Europe (excluding the British Isles) and holds a large amount of Influence throughout New Zealandia, especially with National-Socialist German Workers Party, who surrendered to Esceen following a short and bloody border conflict. Esceen is also one of the founding members of the UNZ (United New Zealandia), and is Regional Security Officer for New Zealandia.
History
Geography
The Mountain ranges of Northern Esceen are home to the planet's highest peaks, including the highest, Mount Dragonite. The Esceenian Range includes over a hundred mountains exceeding 7,200 metres (23,600 ft) in elevation. The flora and fauna of the Esceenian Range vary with climate, rainfall, altitude, and soils. The climate ranges from pasture at the base of the mountains to permanent ice and snow at the highest elevations. The Esceenian Ranges are among the youngest mountain ranges on the planet and consist mostly of uplifted sedimentary and metamorphic rock.
Politics
Many politicians and those interested with politics have often stated that it is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins. It concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Commerce are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dissapointment. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 66%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism, Retail, and Soda Sales industries.
Economy
The Esceenian economy is one of the strongest economies within New Zealandia, scoring at a 97/100 on the World Assembly's Economic Census.
