Originally, the country of The Soviet Reich was divided into North Soviet Reich (NSR) and South Soviet Reich (SSR), but remained one unified country until a long and bloody civil war ended with the assassination of NSR General Shi’u Kasumai. NSR then led a massive offensive to crush the SSR, whom they thought of as an enemy. Then, after 8 weeks of brutal onslaught, the SSR finally surrendered on April 4, 2016. SInce the NSR would only accept the surrender if they got to choose SSR’s new name, the SSR bickered and fought amongst themselves for over 10 hours during the Helzgrove Convention before eventually complying and accepting the terms of surrender only on the condition that they would divvy up the land evenly. They agreed, and the NSR, now renamed Greater Soviet Reich, decided to rename the SSR as the Lesser Soviet Reich, must to the dismay of its leader, Hussein Bolten.
