The Imperial Federate Republics of Siokania is a huge, economically powerful nation, ruled by Prime Minister Marnix Petersson with an even hand, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate population of 870 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Religion & Spirituality, although Defence and Commerce are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cedriwyn. The average income tax rate is 93%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Public loudspeakers constantly tell citizens they are "happy people", toddlers are wielding machine guns in the name of national defense, the government is attempting to revitalize a gutted private sector, and Siokania has one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Siokania's national animal is the Russian Black Bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Sino.
