Overview

Snakes13 is a large, safe, orderly nation founded by Citizen Logos on 7 April 2017. It controls several puppets such as Adrian Ong, Snake Oppression, Anarchic Snakes, Glorious Physics and Weird People. The governmental priorities are Education, Environment and Welfare. Snakes13 is known for beautiful environment, as well as its mellow, well-meaning, peaceful people.

Geography

Snakes13 sits in The Union of Democratic States, in between Adrian Ong and Singaporean Commonwealth, the two most polluting nations. It has a highly diverse environment, featuring all sorts of biomes from the Snake Mountain Range far to the north, to the Snakes Forest surrounding Grand Snakes City, to the Commonwealth Desert on the border with Singaporean Commonwealth. It also owns part of the island chain in Snakes Sea.

Government

The Snakes13 Government is made up of the Executive and Legislature Branches, as laid down in the Constitution of Snakes13. The Legislature Branch consists of the Senate and the Parliament. The President, Balrao Ovalman, is the head of the Parliament and is the leader of the party with most Parliamentary representatives. The Parliament's main function is to propose amendments to bills. The Senate's main function is to determine if a bill complies with the Constitution. The Executive Branch consists of several ministries. The Minister and Second Minister of each ministry forms the Cabinet, which is presided over by the elected Prime Minister, Citizen Logos. The Cabinet writes proposals from the citizens into bills. The ministries are in charge of enforcing all laws passed.

Other Positions of (Limited) Power

The Judiciary Branch is not part of the government by definition of the Constitution, and is in charge of bringing lawbreakers to justice. The Judiciary is ruled over by the High Judge, Justice Bigwig, who is appointed by the Prime Minister. The Snakes13 military has no political power officially, as written into the Constitution. It is headed by the General of Snakes13, Higgs Bose Onn.

Economy

The Snakes13 economy is frighteningly efficient but highly specialised, with only Information Technology, Tourism and Book Publishing. Income is extremely evenly distributed, and very high at about 100000 Snakebucks. Snakes13 maintains trade deals with many regional nations.

Internal Policies

Snakes13 boasts progressive social policies in welfare and education. Its well-screened welfare system uses advanced computer programs to root out those who are leeching off the system while providing welfare funds to honest, hardworking citizens. While social equality is rampant, this is due to the honesty of corporations rather than the omnipresence of government. Cutting-edge technology is used in transport systems, healthcare and industry. The military and police receive no funding at all. The government's policy on religion is clear, as evident from the high secularism rates, lack of church funding and heavy 'religion tax'. The income tax rate is proportional to the income, and is extremely high.

Foreign Policies

Snakes13 maintains peaceful relations with most nations. It even puts up with its loud, polluting, capitalist neighbours and have never interfered in foreign wars. Almost all problems are settled through diplomatic channels or, failing that, an international court. Sizeable amounts of money go towards foreign aid, which is given indiscriminately to all nations, even noted enemies of the state (with a few interesting exceptions). Recently, however, foreign policy went sour, as shown in this extract from a dispatch: After Seaniumhydride's frequent provocation and uncalled-for insults, Snakes13 hereby declares Seaniumhydride to be the archenemy of the state. Any nation or person found aiding or abetting Seaniumhydride will be, by extension, also an enemy of the state.
