The Prizyetsi Aeronotics (Prissetsä Lufteknikk) PA-25 is a multirole fighter designed by PA, a subsidiary of Sverd Industries which is the largest conglomerate in The United Federation of Prizyetsa for use by the Prizyetsi Armed Forces.

Development

Origins

The origins of the PA-25 program find their roots in the preceding PA-10 fighter aircraft program which was developed in the late 1970's. Initially meant to be an aircraft to accompany the PA-10, the program was put on hold due to the program being too advanced for its time, and the lack of interest from the then-operational Prizyetsi Air Force.

In the mid 1990's, it was becoming obvious that a replacement for the PA-10 was needed. Several design bureaus were contacted and a competition was announced to design and produce a new high-tech and light weight multi-role fighter to outfit the Prizyetsi Navy's air arms. By the end of the competition in 2004, Prizyetsi Aeronotics' (Prissetsä Lufteknikk) bid for the contract was the obvious winner, outperforming the other bids in terms of performance as well as unit price.

Variants

  • PA-25 ADF: The Air Defense Fighter variant of the PA-25 aircraft is a specialized air-to-air combat and interceptor. Fitted with more powerful air-search radar suite as well as several other search and acquisition equipment, this variant is one of the most capable air-to-air fighters in the region and forms the backbone of Prizyetsa's air-borne air defense network.
  • PA-25 MR: The Multi-Role variant of the PA-25 was originally the basic variant of the PA-25, however they have been fitted with advanced air-to-ground targeting pods alongside the air-to-air suite. This gives the PA-25 MR excellent ground-strike capabilities augmenting the air-to-air role. This variant can be fitted with free-fall, cluster or smart bombs, cruise missiles, as well as Prizyetsa's conventional nuclear armaments. This variant forms the backbone of the Prizyetsi air forces.
  • PA-25 N: The Naval variant of the PA-25 is outfitted with a reinforced superstructure, increased use of composite materials in order to increase the plane's power-to-weight ratio, and finally, a tail hook to allow the aircraft to operate from aircraft carriers. Similar to the multi-role variant, the PA-25 N is intended to fill many roles, giving the Prizyetsi Navy a flexible platform with which to provide fleet air operations.
