Pan European World Airways, commonly known as Pan Eu, is the principal and largest international air carrier in the Grossdeutsches Reich. The airline was founded in 1937 as a scheduled passenger service serving the Königsberg - Danzig - Berlin - Paris air route. After the 1939 war the airline abandoned domestic flights (for which Lufthansa was given a monopoly) and focused on international flights from its main base at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin.
History
Pan Eu was founded in 1937 as a scheduled passenger service serving the Königsberg - Danzig - Berlin - Paris air route. After the 1939 war the airline abandoned domestic flights (for which Lufthansa was given a monopoly) and focused on international flights from its main base at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. In 1955 Pan Eu established an operating base in Orly Airport at Paris from which it centered its routes to southern Europe. In 1974 the new Philippe Pétain International Airport was inaugurated and the Paris Pan Eu hub was moved there from Orly. In the 1990s the airline moved most of its grossdeutscher activity to Philippe Pétain Airport, leaving Tempelhof for flights to top destinations.
