Luisa Elisabeth van der Gaarde (née Deichmann; born 2 December 1974) is the Prime Minister of Blozendland. She has held the post since 2010 and was re-elected in 2014 to serve another four year term.
Her party is the Monarchist Party, of which she has been President since 2009.
Early life
Luisa Elisabeth Deichmann was born on 2 December 1974 to Aribert, a librarian, and Marijn, a homemaker. She has one older brother, Aribert (b. 1972) and two younger sisters, Anne (b. 1976) and Irene (b. 1977).
She attended the National Political Institution and graduated with an Master of Research degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Economics.
Political life
After joining the Monarchist Party in 1998, she became a candidate for Nieuw Baarn, her hometown in 2002. She won the local election and remained as MP for Nieuw Baarn until 2006, when she was replaced by Günther Drücke, a member of the National Democracy League.
In 2006, she became Shadow Minister for Royal Affairs. She kept this position until she resigned in 2008 due to pregnancy.
In 2009, after the birth of her youngest son, she was elected to the position of President of the Monarchist Party. This made her Leader of the Opposition.
In the 2010 Elections, van der Gaarde and the Monarchist Party won with 58% of the national vote. She was re-elected for a second term in 2014.
Personal life
In 2002, she married Maarten van der Gaarde, a political campaigner for the Monarchist Party whom she met through politics. They have three children; Maarten Jr. (b. 2003), Aimée (b. 2006) and Louis (b. 2008).
She lives in the Liedershuis, the official residence of the Prime Minister. She lists reading, calligraphy and Latin as her hobbies.
