History

Ancient Prizyetsi

Ancient Prizyetsi, or Antikk-Prissets, is the protolanguage which led to what is now recognized as Prizyetsi. The first written record of this ancient form of Prizyetsi was found in excavation efforts in Nörlann province and is though to date back to around 6,000 years b.c.. The discovery of runes forming a basic written language was proof that Prizyetsi society was developing enough to need a written language, and changed much of what was thought about the period.

Old Prizyetsi

Old Prizyetsi is a term given to the language which developed itself into a complex and refined language through the medieval period. In this era, the grammatical structure of the language was cemented, and many new words were either introduced or created as the result of maritime trade with with other nation and the introduction of new objects and customs into Prizyetsi culture.

The oldest preserved examples of Alt-Prissets are trade ledgers and legal documents from the port city of Vosonje.
