Biography
Princess Aniela Maria of Friskland was born on 13 May 1829 in Jättenholm, Friskland, the eldest child of Carl Vilhelm IV of Friskland and his Polish-born wife, Anna Maria Aszpergerowa.
In 1857, Aniela was chosen to become the first Queen consort to King Henri I of Autelia, whose first wife had died before he ascended the throne. Henri was 56, Aniela was 28. Despite a bumpy start to the relationship, Henri and Aniela eventually fell in love with each other. Aniela bore Henri three children:
- Princess Armelle Marianne Diane, born 1859.
- Crown Prince Alexandre Henri Guillaume, born 1861.
- Princess Louise Henriette Francine, born 1863.
