Queen Aniela of Autelia (born Princess Aniela Maria of Friskland; 13 May 1829 - 1 January 1883) was Queen consort of Autelia, wife of King Henri I, who reigned from 1857 to 1882.

Biography

Princess Aniela Maria of Friskland was born on 13 May 1829 in Jättenholm, Friskland, the eldest child of Carl Vilhelm IV of Friskland and his Polish-born wife, Anna Maria Aszpergerowa.

In 1857, Aniela was chosen to become the first Queen consort to King Henri I of Autelia, whose first wife had died before he ascended the throne. Henri was 56, Aniela was 28. Despite a bumpy start to the relationship, Henri and Aniela eventually fell in love with each other. Aniela bore Henri three children:

  • Princess Armelle Marianne Diane, born 1859.
  • Crown Prince Alexandre Henri Guillaume, born 1861.
  • Princess Louise Henriette Francine, born 1863.
