2040 Dystopia

2040 Dystopia is a small region, sparsely populated by only 6 nations.

The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of 2040 Dystopia eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Most denizens subsist off of basic farming or menial factory jobs, with few economic imports or exports. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 83%, or more! The region is a socialist utopia: private enterprise is strictly prohibited in the constituent economies. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.

2040 Dystopia does not prioritize education in any meaningful way. The region's law enforcement is arguably too well-equipped and overzealous, arresting citizens who dare to commit the most minor of infractions. Denizens have well-funded defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 3% of total government budgets.

Throughout 2040 Dystopia, governments find themselves confused, with administration departments being so bloated that staff do not know what other staff are doing, with an average of over 11% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Hospital patients are given credit checks upon passing through emergency rooms, as no government provision is made for healthcare in the region. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Spirituality is an obsession of governments in the region, with a relatively very high average of 5% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.

Social inequality is a major problem within 2040 Dystopia, although some effort has been made to correct the problem. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
