The Turnippian Empire

The Turnippian Empire is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations and only one World Assembly Member.

The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of The Turnippian Empire eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Denizens generally have very few political freedoms, but some limited freedom is afforded to citizens of nations in the region. The economy of the region is very strong, with a large number of very powerful trading powers. The median tax rate of the region is 35%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the private sector, with on average only 41% of the economy comprising the public sector. Stoking commercial activity is a major priority for governments, accounting for an average of 9% of public expenditure.

In The Turnippian Empire, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.

Governments in The Turnippian Empire communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 5% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 1% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Spirituality is an obsession of governments in the region, with a relatively very high average of 6% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.

Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within The Turnippian Empire. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
