1up is a small region, sparsely populated by only 5 nations and only one World Assembly Member. and only 1 World Assembly Members.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of 1up eagerly dismissed concerns of oppressation. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Families in the region discuss laffer curves and supply-side reforms over supper, such is the level of obsession exhibited by member nations. The median tax rate of the region is 27%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region are perfectly balanced between public and private sectors, with both comprising 50% of economic activity within the nations. Commerce is low priority for governments, accounting for an average of 3% of public expenditure, although commerce is generally seen as a source of tax revenue.
1up does not prioritize education in any meaningful way. The region's law enforcement officials try hard to combat a relatively high level of crime, but are hampered by a lack of funding. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it.
