Allied Nations is a minuscule region, inhabited by a sole nation and only one World Assembly Member.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Allied Nations eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Political freedoms are extended only to close friends and relatives of the leaders of the region's governments. Families in the region are so obsessed with the economy that the discussion of laffer curves and supply-side reforms over dinner is a regular occurrence in member nations. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 83%, or more! The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the public sector, with on average only 30% of the economy comprising the private sector. Stoking commercial activity is a major priority for governments, accounting for an average of 14% of public expenditure.
In Allied Nations, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 5% of total government budgets.
The administration departments of Allied Nations are all-consuming, soaking up budgets in aid of supporting a bureaucracy of millions, with an average of 17% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 8% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Allied Nations. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
