Antarctic

Antarctic is a small region, sparsely populated by only 6 nations and only 2 World Assembly Members.

In Antarctic, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Denizens generally have very few political freedoms, but some limited freedom is afforded to citizens of nations in the region. The economy of the region is remarkably unremarkable, with members being neither powerhouses nor basket cases. Denizens suffer under an enormous tax burden throughout the region, with a median tax rate of 52%, and much higher for the wealthy. The region is a socialist utopia: private enterprise is strictly prohibited in the constituent economies. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.

Education is a priority for governments throughout Antarctic, with ample funding being provided and teachers enjoying a great deal of support. Criminality is rife within the region, with law enforcement struggling to cope. Governments allocate a meagre 2%, on average, of their budgets to law and order. Denizens have small defense forces. Public transport is an afterthought, with only 2% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.

Governments in Antarctic find themselves in a constant state of disarray, with very little co-ordination, only 1% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 3% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare is a large part of government expenditure, with denizens amply provided for. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

Social inequality is a major problem within Antarctic, although some effort has been made to correct the problem. The region's landscapes are reasonably good, although the impact of the denizens has had a noticeable effect.
