British Isles

British Isles is a enormous region, with a very large community of 256 member nations. British Isles also has a very large representation in the World Assembly, with 64 member nations.

In British Isles, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Economies in the region tend to be stronger than average. The median tax rate of the region is 40%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the private sector, with on average only 48% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 5% of public expenditure.

Education is a priority for governments throughout British Isles, with ample funding being provided and teachers enjoying a great deal of support. The region's law enforcement officials try hard to combat a relatively high level of crime, but are hampered by a lack of funding. Denizens have very well-funded, well equipped defense forces. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.

Throughout British Isles, governments find themselves confused, with administration departments being so bloated that staff do not know what other staff are doing, with an average of over 8% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 7% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare is a large part of government expenditure, with denizens amply provided for. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

Social inequality is a major problem within British Isles, although some effort has been made to correct the problem. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.

British Isles Forum

British Isles has a lively community of politics, role playing, a government and much, much more. Most of this happens on the forum, which is a normal ZetaBoards-system. British Isles forum currently has a post count of over 55 thousand. Most categories as well as subcategories are named after real-life places in London, such as The Tube, where you need to apply for citizenship, and the Globe Theater, where all RPing happens.
