Throughout DEN, governments find themselves confused, with administration departments being so bloated that staff do not know what other staff are doing, with an average of over 10% of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 2% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. Welfare is a large part of government expenditure, with denizens amply provided for. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

DEN is one of the game's premier raiding regions/organizations. DEN has existed in one form or another for at least ten years. It describes itself as "The most notorious, well-organized, and well-disciplined raider army" in NationStates.

The region was deleted by moderators in April 2016 for using an illegal script.
