Intergalactic Federacy is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations and only one World Assembly Member.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Intergalactic Federacy eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Families in the region are so obsessed with the economy that the discussion of laffer curves and supply-side reforms over dinner is a regular occurrence in member nations. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 93%, or more! The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the public sector, with on average only 11% of the economy comprising the private sector. Stoking commercial activity is a major priority for governments, accounting for an average of 10% of public expenditure.
Intergalactic Federacy values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. The region's law enforcement is arguably too well-equipped and overzealous, arresting citizens who dare to commit the most minor of infractions. Denizens have very well-funded, well equipped defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 5% of total government budgets.
Governments in Intergalactic Federacy communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 4% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 9% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
Social inequality is a major problem within Intergalactic Federacy, although some effort has been made to correct the problem. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
