Liberty Alliance is a small region, sparsely populated by only 6 nations and only one World Assembly Member.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Liberty Alliance eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Most denizens subsist off of basic farming or menial factory jobs, with few economic imports or exports. Denizens suffer under an enormous tax burden throughout the region, with a median tax rate of 54%, and much higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the public sector, with on average only 40% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce within the region is an irrelevant annoyance to governments.
Liberty Alliance values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. There is a very high level of crime within the region and law enforcement resources are stretched thin. Denizens have small defense forces. Public transport is an afterthought, with only 1% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.
Governments in Liberty Alliance communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 2% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 8% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
Social inequality is rife amongst the nations within Liberty Alliance. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
