The Confederation is a medium-sized region, with a thriving community of 12 nations and 4 World Assembly Members.
In The Confederation, denizens enjoy their civil rights. Nations in the region are healthy democracies, with denizens being afforded an extensive array of political freedoms. The economy of the region is very strong, with a large number of very powerful trading powers. Denizens tend to pay their taxes quickly and quietly, with a median tax rate of 22%. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the private sector, with on average 37% of the economy comprising the public sector. Stoking commercial activity is a major priority for governments, accounting for an average of 13% of public expenditure.
In The Confederation, denizens are afforded a reasonable education. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it.
