The Galactic Federation is a minuscule region, inhabited by a few solitary nations.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of The Galactic Federation eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Most denizens subsist off of basic farming or menial factory jobs, with few economic imports or exports. The median tax rate of the region is 39%, but is frequently higher for the wealthy. The economies of nations in the region tend to be weighted more towards the private sector, with on average only 49% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is low priority for governments, accounting for an average of -1% of public expenditure, although commerce is generally seen as a source of tax revenue.
In The Galactic Federation, denizens are afforded a reasonable education, although funding is somewhat wanting. The region's law enforcement officials try hard to combat a relatively high level of crime, but are hampered by a lack of funding. Denizens have small defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 4% of total government budgets.
Governments in The Galactic Federation find themselves in a constant state of disarray, with very little co-ordination, only 1% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 5% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Spirituality is a moderate priority of governments within the region, with-1% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.
Social inequality is a major problem within The Galactic Federation, although some effort has been made to correct the problem. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
