The Imperial Alliance

The Imperial Alliance is a minuscule region, inhabited by a sole nation.

Throughout The Imperial Alliance, traditions are kept strictly throughout the region, punishing upstarts and rabble-rousers harshly. Political freedoms are extended only to close friends and relatives of the leaders of the region's governments. It’s the economy, stupid... and in this region, it’s massive. Inhabitants of the region pay their entire reported earnings to the government. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the public sector, with on average only 26% of the economy comprising the private sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 7% of public expenditure.

The Imperial Alliance values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. The region's law enforcement is arguably too well-equipped and overzealous, arresting citizens who dare to commit the most minor of infractions. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it. Public transport is an afterthought, with only 1% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.

Governments in The Imperial Alliance communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 4% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 5% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. No welfare is provided in the region. Those unlucky enough to fall into unemployment are forgotten and abandoned. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

Social inequality is a major problem within The Imperial Alliance, although some effort has been made to correct the problem. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
