The Squirtle Squad is a small region, sparsely populated by only 8 nations and only 3 World Assembly Members.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of The Squirtle Squad eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Economies in the region tend to be stronger than average. Denizens tend to pay their taxes quickly and quietly, with a median tax rate of 14%. The economies of nations in the region tend to be heavily weighted towards the private sector, with on average 27% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is a priority for governments, accounting for an average of 7% of public expenditure.
In The Squirtle Squad education, when conducted, is done with sticks and mud. There is a very high level of crime within the region and law enforcement resources are stretched thin. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.
