The region is a beacon of capitalism, with the public sector not existing in any meaningful way in constituent economies. Stoking commercial activity is a major priority for governments, accounting for an average of 11% of public expenditure.

The region's law enforcement is arguably too well-equipped and overzealous, arresting citizens who dare to commit the most minor of infractions.
