Retiva, officially known as the Federal Republic of Retiva, is a federal parliamentary republic located in and covers the majority of Europe and a minor bit of Asia. The country consists of 29 member states and it's capital and largest city is Pogarnova. Retiva covers an area of 6,245,900 km2 and has an estimated population count of 741 million. It is a major economic and political within the Ministreyl Union, and although it does not take part in international affairs in the World Assembly, it has the power to sway the international community. Retiva is bordered by two nations, with Dundrel to the east, and Rivendia to the South-east.

Retiva is a developed country, accompanied by a GDP of $53 trillion, along with a GDP per Capita of $72,860; one of the highest in the world. However, income equality in Retiva is also very high. The massive economy of Retiva is fuelled by the immensely large pool of natural resources and high labour force, thus allowing the economy to flourish. Being a leader in technological and industrial sectors, it is a very large global exporter and importer of goods. Being a country with a very large and sophisticated economy, along with a high standard of living, Retiva is a regional power and often competes with neighbouring countries in various industrial fields. Retiva engages in occasional international affairs should it ever intertwine with it's interests and is a founding member of the Ministreyl Union.

History

The first recorded inhabitants in Roman Europe whom have been named 'Retivian tribes' by the Romans was in 83 A.D, although it was believed that these tribes were splinter groups of the predominant Celtic tribes.

Geography

Retiva is a country covering the majority of Europe and a minor bit of Asia, having a total landmass of 6,245,900 km2. It has maritime borders with the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Mediterranean, Black and Caspian Seas to the south. Southern regions of Retiva tend to consist of mountain ranges, while to the north, it consists of hilly uplands and low northern plains. Climate in Europe tends to be temperate, mostly affected by westerlies.

Because Retiva covers most of Europe, it is subject to the influence of the Gulf Stream, dubbed 'Europe's central heating' system. The Gulf Stream allows Europe's climate to be warmer and wetter than it would actually be without it. The Gulf Stream carries warm water throughout Retiva's coastlines, not only that but it also warms up the western winds of Europe. Retiva inherits both western, central, and a bit of eastern Europe's vast natural resources, which includes coal, natural gas, iron ore, zine, lead, tin, salt, limestone, titanium, copper, potash, timber, lignite, uranium, nickel, arable land and water.

Retiva is a federal, parliamentary, representative democratic republic.

Foreign Relations and military

Retiva has a network of 150 diplomatic missions abroad, limiting this mostly to member nations of the Ministreyl Union and compromising some to members of the international community. It maintains limited relations with the global community, although there has been diplomatic missions initiated by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an effort to be more engaging in international affairs, with it's biggest effort in doing so is proposing the formation of the Ministreyl Union.

Retiva maintains good diplomatic relations with multiple nations in the Ministreyl Union, including The Soviet Federation of Dundrel, Gerendayl, Inopus and Brustin. Most of Retiva's imports comes from Brustin, whom it owes 8.8% to.

Retiva's military, the Retivan Armed Forces, is separated into 4 uniformed branches; the Retivan Army, Retivan Navy, Retivan Air Force, and the Retivan Space Service. The RAF was formed soon after the formation of the Federal Republic of Retiva in 2030, to protect the nation's international and domestic interests, as well as repel any internal or external threats. The RAF is one of the most technologically sophisticated military forces in the world, with most of it's military arsenals made indigenously, along with Retiva's success in the field of technology, meaning that the weapons and such that the RAF has access to is truly cutting edge. With their most recent war being the Rivendian-Retiva war in 2033, when the The United Federation of Rivendia declared war on the Federal Republic after it's economy became stagnant for the past few years to claim the vast resources that allowed the Retivan economy to flourish. And although the Rivendian Armed Forces had a significantly larger military than the RAF, the technological superiority allowed the RAF an edge over the Rivendian Armed Forces. The RAF today remains a small military force compared to the might of the S.F.D, however Retiva can always call on the nation's immense manpower when losing the war.

Economy

Retiva has a mixed economy with a highly skilled labour force, a large capital stock, a near-nonexistant level of corruption, and a very high level of technological innovation. It is currently one of the largest and most powerful economies in the Ministreyl Union, being the 5th largest economy in the union. The industry sector contributes to about 52% of the total GDP, with the service sector at 47% and agriculture at 1%. The official unemployment rate rests at 4.02%, however this also includes part-time employees looking for a full time job. The unofficial unemployment rate is 3.05%.

Pogarnova has one of the largest city GDP per capita in the region, as well as being the three main command centres of the region's economy, as well as being the largest financial center in the union. However, the Retivan economy is independent of the tourism industry due to the terrible state of environmental care, however lush rainforests remain intact far from the heavily urbanised sections of Retiva.

The automotive industry is one of the significant parts of the Retivan economy and employs more than 75 million people, and is able to generate over $752 billion worth of export to foreign countries both in and outside the union. The aerospace industry is the third largest industry in Retiva, generating over $956 billion dollars worth of income annually. The pharmaceutical industry plays a major, yet smaller role than other industries in the Retivan economy, however the industry holds more than a quarter of the shares in the global pharmaceutical expenditure.
