The RiLFA Football Championship, commonly known as the Championship, is the highest tier of Letto-Ruhnese football. 28 teams take part in the competition, and they are divided into 7 divisions based on geographical location.

Branding

The logo consists of the 'Futboolsargs' (The Defender of Football) - the trophy given to the winner, with the text RiLFA Football Championship written in gold - the main color of the competition.

Format

The 28 clubs are divided into 7 divisions or groups by geographical location: Ruhnu; Hogskar; Foglo-Langnas; East Leht; Northern Mariehamn; Southern Mariehamn; Fasta Aland. Every team faces each other once, the location (home or away) being drawn before the competition - except teams from the same division, which play each other twice - once at home and once away. As a result, 30 matches are played. The TOP1 recieve the trophy, the TOP4 qualify for the second round of the Mint Football Cup. Two teams are relegated - the worst team from Mariehamn/Fasta Aland & the worst team from Ruhnu/Eastern-most Leht. They are replaced by the best RiLFA Football Second League non-reserve team from their respective group. The two promoted teams and the remaining 22 teams, that were not relegated, but also were not in the TOP4, qualify for the Mint Football Cup first round.
