The Rugby Union Championship Trophy, (officially the Seasogs Championship for sponsorship reasons) is an international rugby union club tournament, believed to be the largest of its kind in the NationStates world. It was first organized after Rugby World Cup 12 by Somewhereistonia, and operates on a similar (if smaller) model to TakilQuip Champions' Cup in football.
After Somewhereistonia's departure from Nationstates, Polar Islandstates took over the event, originally calling it the Barsteeg Championship, and then the Seasogs Championship, which is what it is still known as today after 16 editions. The Heroes Cup, the equivalent to football's Globe Cup was not continued, possibly due to the relatively small size of the tournament compared to domestic football tournaments.
13 different clubs have won the title, coming from 9 different nations. In terms of finals appearances, 16 different clubs have appeared, from 13 different nations. Clubs from Darmen and Saugeais have been the most successful, winning the title 3 times, while individually, Montbenoit Old Boys (SAU) have been the most successful club, having won three titles. In terms of total finals appearances, clubs from Polar Islandstates have reached the final 7 times, while Montbenoit Old Boys have been the most successful club to reach the finals, appearing 6 times.
