Using central funding to line their own pockets, the Olympic Association Executive were more than happy to let the sports they were supposed to oversee fend for themselves while they lived the life of luxury. A state of affairs that led to Domingo Orbina, the newly appointed Sports Minister, to sack the entire Executive during the Games in Lasft. Despite the leadership crisis around them some of the nation’s finest still rose to the occasion.
