The South Hills Area Council of Governments is a Constitutional Federal Republic located in the major continent of Urth. It is bordered by Aelitia to the south and Dovakhan to the east. A wasteland current occupies its northern border.
South Hills is a Kerilo member nation.
Climate
The Climate in South Hills varies wildly from location, dependent on the 12 states;
- Mint Hill is the geographically closest to the Equator of Urth, and is the hottest to reflect that. It rarely drops below 60 degrees and humidity is very low. This makes it perfect for farmers, who can farm year round. This also means Mint Hill is particularly vulnrable to wildfires and the like.
- Elizabeth is hot, humid, and a perfect vacation spot for many. Despite this, the weather can change rapidly; a sunny afternoon can change into a afternoon thunderstorm easilly. The temperature rarely goes below 50 degrees.
- Ellis, despite being a island, is more temperate, with temperature year-round generally following the global average. A occassional snow storm is possible.
- Duquesne/Pittsburgh both share a mountainous and temperate climate. The temperature dips below freezing often during winter, and the Allegheny Mountain Range here is famous for its ski slopes. The seasons best assert themselves here, with spectacular fall views of the changing leaves during fall, snow during winter, and nice temperatures during spring and summer.
- McKeesport has a temperate yet non-mountainous climate, sharing temperatures with Pittsburgh and Duquesne.
- The various states of Tano (Center Tano, East Tano, West Tano) all are a more tundra like landscape, with mountains in Center Tano. All experience near year-round snowfall.
Government
South Hills is a constitutional federalist republic, with 12 states and multiple territories.
It involves a checks-and-balances system between the three branches of government; the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.
Executive
The Executive branch of government is controlled by the President, currently Rob Hunter (R-D).
It is in control of enforcing laws, foreign policy, and the civilian President is the head of the South Hills Military
Legislative
The Legislative branch is headed by the Speaker of the House, currently Jim Taylor (N)
The legislative branch is responsible for making laws, the budget, taxes, ect.
Judicial
The Judicial branch is headed by the Supreme Court of South Hills, and consists of both State and Federal courts within South Hills.
