Background

This battle was the seventeenth in a series of engagements between the militaries of Nvrads and Ulmur. These engagements began when Nvrads, then the kingdom of Leuen, propsed a unification of a Nvradian State with Ulmur, who refused harshly, and one of the most major battles as it would decide the war victor.

Opening Engagement

With the capture of Welleire a year earlier, which was grossly close to Malleise, the capital, the commander of the invasion, Wilhelm von Hurpitz, and of the 9th Infantry, moves the 13th Red Guard, 12th Core, and 7th Battalion, which formed the 9th Infantry, moved to take the city.

First Encounter

The First Battles began near a farm outside the city as a skirmish, while the gross of the force, the 12th and 13th Red Guard moved to surround the west side. The 12th stopped on the western side of the city, and the 13th kept going and secured the north, the south had already been secured. The farm, named Engmot, formed a small battle between 2,500 Nvradians and 1,000 Ulmurians. Artillery arrived, taking Engmot- as in the eastern surrounds of the city.

Artillery and Calvary would be brought up en masse, as in 500 Cannons. They were set up and began battering the city. The 9th Infantry were ordered to NOT make a attack however the 12th moved into the city during the bombardment, and seized a few buildings. This caused a halt to the bombardment. The 13th and 12th moved in, and the wounded, able bodied, and dead were seperated into different buildings to take cover in throughout the city. There in total is roughly 70,000 men hiding in the buildings of the massive city, using guerrila warfare against the occupiers. Mass civilian killings occured, and every building was searched. This was quite sucessful, and 30,000 men were killed int he searches.

Destruction of the Ulmurian Garrison

This continued until a mass offensive by the garrisons occured, taking over the central part of the city. Invaders moved from all sides, and they knew they had to breakout, establishing a breathing space in the north. They heavily fortified thsi breathing space that they got supplies through. The entire 9th Infantry made a push into the city, all the way up to April 13, 1783. The King is captured on the day, and forced to sign the pre-prepared Treaty of Monduz a day later.
