History
The Republic of Ivory Rhodes was founded on 21 November, 1867, with the signing of the Treaty of Providence by Emperor Jhon Clute and General Jacques Azara, granting the region asylum in the newly founded Alliance of Jacques, and allowing it to be established as a sovereign nation. Before the Battles of Oriah, an important naval port situated North West of the mainland of Ivory Rhodes, the region was located in the boundries of the Rhugan Empire, which had dominated the surrounding islands for over 300 years. The fall of the Empire came with a coup, headed by General Jacques Azara. Though nations flying the Empire's blue and gold colors experience economic prosperity under the rule of Emperor Jhon Clute, freedoms such as those of Assembly and Speech soon disappeared, while the government became smaller and centralized. In 1864, tensions between the Fascist Party and Socialist Party snapped, exploding into violence on the streets, and the assassination of the Emperor.
As the region became increasingly unstable, the bloodshed continued. Within the span of the 3 year war, 2 billion citizens of Ivory Rhodes were killed, along with 75 million military casualties. It is regarded as one of the most heinous and bloody wars in the history of NSG by historians. After the 3 years, General Jacques Azara seized the Isles of Ivory Rhodesian Peoples, where the capitol of the Empire had been moved to after the conquer of the region in 1757. The Treaty of Providence, signed in the province of Providence on 21 November 1864, dissolved the Empire, and unified all willing flags under that of the Alliance of Jacques.
In 1908, Nigel Ronagan, the first Osian (see map for Osiah Principality) and Socialist to become President of Ivory Rhodes, was elected to office in a landslide victory over the Jacques's Party canidate Ariel Constante.
