The VII VS-Gebirgskorps is a corps-sized mountain infantry formation of the Verteidigungsstaffel. The formation is currently made up of three mountain infantry divisions. They are stationed in Finnmarck, Rotgeheim, and where they gained fame for their participation in the Northern Territory War. A fourth division, the 13th VS-Mountain Division Dinslaken, was a part of the formation until 19 September 1914, when it was encircled and destroyed by troops of the Fuerstenburg Defense Forces during the Battle for Bellock. The division is commanded by Generalmajor (Brigadier General) Klaus Eichenberg.
