In it's 16th-19th century span it was known as a quite prosperous nation in the early-20th century however, a decline in the world economy caused Niścala to slip into economic decline. On July 28, 1967 General Jagannatha Mahavir Korrapati seized power in a bloodless coup after arresting former President Shrinivas Bandyopadhyay and assuming office.
