The Presidential Guard Battalion (Spanish: Guardia Presidencial Batallón) is an elite unit of the Narsoran National Army that is tasked with VIP protection, protection of heads of state, government institutions and the President of Narsora.

History

The Presidential Guard Battalion was formed in 1964 in response to the assassination of several world leaders. The unit was previously notorious for committing the 1985 San Marcos Massacre, in which they killed 20 protesting civilians demanding the resignation of then president David Anderson. As a result the unit was disbanded until 1992, when it was reformed by then president Adrián Gómez.

Equipment

As the unit is part of the army, it is armed with the same equipment as regular troops.
