The 1880 Laiatanese coup d'état (Laiatanese: 1880 Лаиатанский государственный переворот, tr. 1880 Laiatanskiy gosudarstvennyy perevorot), commonly known as the Takeover (Laiatanese: Приобретение, tr. Priobreteniye) among the public was a successful coup d'état in Laiatan orchestrated by General-Colonel Leonid Arzamastsev and his deputies. It began on July 8, 1880 with the Volkgoroda Guards storming the Parliament building and arresting Members of Parliament.
