The 2009 Kyrloth Speaker Election was held following the expiry of the ten-year term of the Speaker of the House. As the only candidate upon the declaration of the election on Friday 4 September was the incumbent, Erun Zlovsky, the vote scheduled for Thursday 1 October was not held, and Zlovsky was returned as the Speaker for another ten years.
Although the Socialist party traditionally contests Speaker elections, they did not field a candidate for 2009; the general election was only a month away and, in a statement to Kyrloth News Central, the then party leader Faera Alusza explained that she "did not want to waste party resources on fighting an election we don't have to win".
