Season 22 Amberian Islands Premier League

The Amberian Islands Premier League is the top football division in the Amberian Islands. The league was founded in 1995 and it is organised by the Amberian Islands Football Federation. It is currently composed of 10 clubs playing in the form of a round-robin tournament, with teams playing four times against each other during the season. At the end of the season, one team is relegated and one is promoted from the Amberian Islands Second League. The winner of the league earns a place in the Champions’ Cup and the next two highest placed teams in the Globe Cup.

Competition format

There are 10 clubs playing in the Amberian Islands Premier League. During the time of the season each club plays 36 games in total. They face all the others 4 times, twice at their home stadium and twice at the stadium of their opponents. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw with no points being awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked based on total points, then head-to-head record, then goal difference, and then goals scored. When the season ends, the club with the most points is crowned the champion and gets a spot in the Champions’ Cup. If points are equal, the head-to head record and then goal difference determine the winning team. The two teams that finished below the champion are elligible to enter the Globe Cup. The one lowest placed team is relegated to the Amberian Islands Second League and the top team from there is promoted in its place.
