The Battle of Tival was a naval engagement fought in the Setznan Civil War. It started after a trap set by United Imperial Rebel Front ensnared an Emberitian destroyer, which escalated upon the arrival of three Strataric warships.

Background

The United Imperial Rebel Front had destroyed and stolen railguns from the Emberitian cruiser UNV Polaris. Due to false information, the Emberitian ship UNV Virgo pulled alongside a seemingly Setznan fishing boat and destroyed a warehouse thought to contain the bulk of the UIRF's anti-aircraft weaponry. After discovering that it did not, the 'fishing boat' unveiled itself as an UIRF vessel. Unleashed the railguns stolen from the Polaris, it began firing on the Virgo.

After officially entering the war on the side of The Republic of Setzna, The Most Serene Republic of Stratarin, planned to transport the commander of their forces in this campaign, General Zhenya Korzhakov, to Setzna on the 2nd Strataric Fleet's flagship, the SBS Nemezida. Escorted by the destroyers SBS Bditelnyy and SBS Molotok, they had reached the island of Tival when they saw the Virgo's plight, and joined battle.
