The Communist Party of Tarper, also commonly referred to as the CPT, is a Communist and Marxist-Leninist political party in Tarper. The party was founded in 1902 as a continuation of the United Socialist Democratic Party, USDP, of the Tarperti-Sangheili État.
Since mid-2010, its leader has been Raul Gomez. In the Bundestag the party has 64 out of 630 seats after polling 8.6% of the vote in the 2013 federal elections and, after the Socialist Unity and Labour parties formed a coalition government, it became the leader of the opposition. Its parliamentary group is the second largest among the four groups in the Bundestag, ahead of the Social Democrats.
According to official party figures, the Party had 63,784 registered members as of December 2016, making it the third-largest party in Tarper.
The party participates in the legislatures of seven states and is the senior partner in the government coalition of Meerland.
