Dag von Schmidt (born 1963) is a Braslander entrepreneur. He is the son of Erich von Schmidt and his first wife, Duchess Gloria von Kerlich.

His parents separated when he was two years old. Then, his father left for Europe and rarely saw his son. He grew up with his maternal family, very close to his uncle, the Duke von Kerlich, and his grandmother, the Dowager Duchess. His paternal grandparents, Dag and Vittoria von Schmidt, also remained in close contact with him and his mother, and granted Gloria a large allowance for her and her son.

His mother raised him very strictly, and he was a good student and also excelled in sports. He studied at Rottendorf College and then went to study Political Science in Harvard. Then he returned to Brasland and served in the Royal Guards for two years, after which he started working for the family companies for another two year period. He returned to the US to study Business Management and later work in New York. In 1995 he returned to Brasland and was prepared to assume a high position inside the Schmidt Group. When Olav Palmerson became President in 1999 things changed for the Schmidt family. They and their companies were harrassed by the government, forcing patriarch Dag von Schmidt to divide his empire and leave Brasland to live in Switzerland. His grandson was left with authority over a series of companies, some of which were confiscated. He managed to navigate through this complicated period and avoid bankruptcy under the difficult conditions of the Braslander economy. When the regime fell in 2008, the family recovered most of their confiscated assets and reunited the companies under a new Schmidt Group. Dag was chosen as CEO of the Group and has led it through a period of expansion and consolidation, starting investments in fields such as telecommunications, forestry, wine, hotels and mining.

In 1998 he married Lucie Weiller, a niece of former President Alan Weiller. They have four children: Johannes (born 1999), Marita (born 2001), Gloria (born 2004) and Ralf (born 2007).
