Dmitry Dmitrovich Landev (born November 23, 1948) is the first President of the Federal Republic of Nolgaria. Born in Kiev, he is the first commoner to be head of state over Nolgaria or its predecessor, Caucasian Rus. He grew up son of a wealthy steel manufacturer and he was educated at the famed Charenko University in Volgograd. He expanded his father's steel industry and became a powerful business man, owning much of the infrastructure in Kiev at one moment. He then served in the Third Estate on the Zemsky Sobor before getting appointed Trade Minister by the Tsar. However, his globalist policies and liberal philosophy got him kicked out of the council by his fellow ministers and when he spoke out against the Tsar, he was imprisoned. However, when Caucasian Rus collapsed, he was released from prison and immediately established a Constitutional Conference and oversaw the establishment of Nolgaria. He was then appointed as the first President of Nolgaria and his first few years have been spent trying to repair the economy and repel foreign invaders.

Early Life and Education

Dmitry Landev was born in Kiev on November 23, 1948 to Josef Landev, a powerful businessman in Kiev who owned multiple metal and steel factories as well as had invested in numerous farming ventures. During his life as a young boy, Dmitry attended the prestigious Olgev School which was a private school only for the children of the wealthy and he was trained in many advanced skills including economics, high level mathematics, and political science.

Landev headed to the capital of Volgograd where he attended the Charenko University and graduated with a degree in economics. While in college, he met Tatyana Mikhailov who was a law student and daughter of another rich family in Kiev as well and they married soon after. After graduating, he got a position in a trade company in Volgograd but after it got shut down by the government, he headed back to Kiev where he helped take over his father's business

Business Career

Landev worked on growing his father's business and renamed it "OlgaStal." His steel empire soon expanded exponentially and he not only began to sell steel throughout Kiev and the eastern Caucasian Rus but his steel made it all the way Volgograd the capital. He expanded his industry to include ownership of many local railroads and also over a few different water plants.

Landev was considered a very generous man and most of his wealth he accumulated, he used to open orphanages and start charitable trust funds for the impoverished people across Kiev and even throughout most of the nation. He also started the "Litmusk Hospital Network" that worked on establishing medical clinics in poor areas and in slums as well to rural communities.

Zemsky Sobor

In 1995, the Tsar called for new elections of the Zemsky Sobor in which Landev was chosen to represent the region of Kiev along with a few other prominent figures. Throughout the next years, Landev tried to wield his new economic power in the Third Estate by eliminating the other competing steel companies in the region that tried to take him to court and challenge him before the Tsar, but ultimately, Landev prevailed and the Tsar dissolved his opposition's companies

In 2001, at the beginning of a millennium, demands for economic reform began to shake the entire country as the numbers of poor and unemployed were extremely high and even some of the merchant class were now clamoring for economic reform. Landev was the most vocal in opening up trade to the surrounding nations, an idea that remained very popular among many in the Third Estate but some tried to oppose it, afraid they would go out of business

Minister of Trade

In 2006, Landev was appointed as Minister of Trade by the Tsar in order to help with some of the free market principles that were proposed. In the administration, Landev became a strong advocate for opening up Caucasian Rus's borders, and he began to help broker trade agreements with the Federal Union of Weselton and the Southern Isles to try to start some economic integration. While the economy began to start lifting after this, many of the more nationalistic members of the council tried to turn the Tsar against Landev and they had their companies pull stocks out of the market and caused it to crash, blaming it on Landev and on their pressure, Landev was fired.

Exile

Landev was exiled from the government in 2010 and the Tsar ordered all trade treaties to be discontinued and the borders sealed while he ordered the military to be put on high alert to prepare for an invasion. However, the economy began to crumble even further and unrest exploded as numerous regions seceded and began independent, causing revolutions and military strife to break out.

Imprisonment

In 2012, Landev spoke out against what he called the corruption of the Tsar's government and his oppression of the poor. Being accused of helping foment insurrection, Landev was placed under arrest and imprisoned. However, the Tsar's government began to crumble and in 2014, the Tsar was killed in an accident. Upon his death, his cabinet murdered the heir and tried to seize control but the whole country crumbled and the cabinet ended up fleeing the country.

Rise to Power

Head of Constitutional Conference

When law and order collapsed in early April of 2014, the prisons were opened and Landev immediately got free and headed to Volgograd where he gave an address over television called for the creation of a new republic and invited all the local governors and revolutionary leaders to meet. They met between Kiev and Volgograd in Rostov and meeting together, they drafted up a Constitution that was signed by all officials on April 10, 2014, creating the Federal Republic of Nolgaria

Acting President

The Constitutional Conference then selected Dmitry Landev and Vladimir Sveyia as the new acting President and Prime Minister of Nolgaria and Landev was immediately met with challenge as Phastropastan, Volyn, and Dontarian troops launched invasions of Nolgaria in retaliation against the crimes committed by the Tsar. Landev however was able to mollify Phastropastan and Dontaria and they withdrew, leaving Volyn attacking them and Nolgarian troops and militas soon drove Volyn out as well. Landev also began to push for more liberal reforms including healthcare, pensions, unions, and such. He currently has an approval rating of 89%

Personal Life

Landev married Tatyana Mikhailov not to long after they were caught making out in public on campus however, they both have no children due to medical issues they both have, one of the main reasons Landev was chosen for President as the Conference knew he would not be producing an heir and could not become the next Tsar. Landev has a sweet-tooth and is also very fond of vodka and cigars.
