FRELIMO was the primary political party in Mocambyk from 2014 to 2018. It led the country to independence in 2014 after over a decade of guerrilla warfare and people's war. At the Third Party Congress in May 2018 FRELIMO became Partido FRELIMO and officially adopted a Marxist-Leninist stance.
