Filip III (born April 9, 1925) is the King of the Kingdom of the Southern Isles and he ascended the throne upon the death of his father Henrick II on January 7, 1969. King Filip is renown for starting his own musical academy and serving as an admiral for the Southern Isles Royal Navy during World War II.

He grew up under the training of royal tutors but during World War II, he received his college from the Royal Naval Academy and was commissioned as an admiral but never served in combat. After the war ended, he started his own musical academy and married a common, Margarethe. After becoming King, he has decreased his involvement a bit and now just serves as the state figure for the Southern Isles.

Early Life and Education

Filip III was born on April 9, 1925 in the Royal Palace of the Southern Isles to then-Prince Henrick II of the Southern Isles and Princess Judith of Vulgaria. As firstborn, he was automatically designated as the crown prince and was baptized seven days after he was born, according to tradition. As a young boy, he took a great interest in music and became proficient in the playing of the piano, flute, and violin. Private tutors were hired for him so that he could be trained in music theory and many of the other necessary subjects.

Wartime Efforts

Because of the brewing war, Prince Filip III joined the Southern Isles Royal Naval Academy and started to receive his training as a naval admiral. While not expecting to actually head to war, Filip III was preparing for the worst scenario in case if he would have to defend the Southern Isles and he was involved in overseeing a few different naval exercises off the Southern Isles's coast

Marriage and Children

When he turned 21, Prince Filip was married to Margarethe IV who was a commoner before, her name being Margarethe Arbonne. They had a total of 4 children, an actually very small number compared to the amount of heirs that Southern Isles royalty usually produce.

Musical Activities

Prince Filip III decided to found his own musical academy so he established one and served not only as the patron and performing master but actually even worked as a teacher, as he loved music so much he wanted to teach others about it, even though he was the prince. Prince Filip's musical academy soon received international accommodation and renown

Succession to the Throne

On January 7, 1969, King Henrick II died in his sleep peacefully of old age and Prince Filip III immediatly became king, having his official coronation ceremony a month later on February 1. After becoming King, he appointed his son, Prince Hendrick III, as the new headmaster and instructor of his musical academy as King Filip III was involved in many other duties know.

Since 1969, King Filip III has been instrumental in encouraging growth in his country but for the most part, he has remained politically neutral and does not vote or take place in political debates, although he does have the right to. He celebrated his 40th year as king in 2009.
