The Imperial and Royal Mint is the only body permitted to manufacture, or mint, the coins of Diadochia. The Mint originated over 1,700 years ago, and has produced coins for Diadochia ever since. Many ancient coins are housed there.

History

The Atlantis Mint first begin operating in 307 during the reign of Alexander IX of Diadochia, but was only one of many mints throughout the empire. Besides Atlantis there were mints in Adrianople, Alexandretta, Athenais, Cyzicus, Nicaea, Olympias, Philippopolis, Thessalonica, and Trebizond.

By 1250 it had moved to the Fortress of Saint George by order of Emperor George III, and has remained there ever since, achieving a monopoly on the production of coins of the realm.

Role of the Imperial and Royal Mint

The Imperial and Royal Mint exists mainly to mint coins for circulation in Diadochia. However, it also manufactures and circulates coins for all of the Diadochian dependencies, mints collectors' coins, and produces military medals and civilian decorations for the Diadochian armed forces and orders of chivalry.
