Joseph de Courtenay

Prince Joseph de Courtenay (1898-1989) was the son of Prince Antoine de Courtenay.

He devoted most of his time to archeology and went on several expeditions across the world, among them to Egypt and Peru.

In 1936 he married Frances Noughton, an American translator. They had three children: Samuel (born 1938), Victoire (born 1941; archeologist, unmarried) and Eléonore (born 1944).

Prince Joseph died in 1989 at his home in Halvan.
