The Metatron Corporation is a company that originates from The Oan Isles.

Structure

Ownership

The ownership of the Metatron Corporation is divided into shares. There are two types of shares: A voting and B non voting shares. In both cases dividends are paid out to the owners of the shares at a rate of 20 kiribs per share. The A voting shares allow those who own those particular shares to also vote on major decisions such as the appointment of directors and members of the Board. 51% of these shares are owned by the Oan government. 49% of these shares are by a consortium of Oan businessed ranging from banks to mining companies. The B non voting shares are shares to which dividends are paid, but grant no voting rights. 33% of these are owned by the consortium of private businesses. The other 66% are owned by the workers at the Metatron Corporation.

Governance

The Metatron Corporation is led by a President/Chief Executive Officer who runs the daily affairs and leads the company as a whole. The Board of Directors is responsible for authorising major actions. Unlike other companies in which the state has a large stake, it has little influence in the daily affairs of the company. The Consortium appoints the Board and CEO after consulting with the workers.

The Board has a lot of independence in the work it does and the decisions it makes. The Board is made up of representatives of the Consortium, while the representatives of the state and the workers seldom say much, leaving the bulk of the work to the Consortium-appointed board members. The Managing Directors are the highest employees. Their job is to oversee the major divisions and departments of the company. These include the Managing Director for the Finance Department or the Managing Director for the Robotics Tech Division or the Weapons division.

Mergers

The Metatron Corporation absorbed many companies over the years. These include The Oan Aerospace Defence Company, the Arms and Munitions Corporation and the Palm Fronds Engineering Corporation. So far these entities form the Aerospace, Weapons and Robotics divisions of the Metatron Corp, but operate largely in the same way. It acquired their assets and patent rights over many advances and technologies. This includes the Oan Maritime Defence Service's ICBM systems.

Products

Weapons

The Metatron Corporation produces the Oan arsenal of handheld weapons. These include assault rifles, pistols and revolvers, machine guns and bazookas. What makes them unique, is the fact that they use poison darts that cause localised pain and temporary paralysis. They are non lethal. They can only kill if many of them are used in one place in the body. They cab generally paralyse an animal as large as an elephant.

They also produce grenades. These grenades emit an electromagnetic or electricity pulse/blast that destabilises or disables electronic equipment. They also produce guided and ballistic missiles which perform the same function. They are aiming to keep in line with Oan pacifist policies. The Oan government has aimed to phase out death or permanent injury in combat. The Metatron Corp can sell these "weapons" to any official entity in or outside the Oan Isles that the government allows it to sell to.

The Metatron Corp also produces weapons that are deadly and use the conventional armour and tissue piercing/damaging and explosive projectiles such as missiles, bullets or grenades. These may only be sold to the Oan government and no one else. Even then, there are tight restrictions on their use. These are fairly advanced, adaptable and cheap to maintain, although they are designed mostly for combat that falls within the Oan doctrine.

Aerospace Defence

This division produces the entire arsenal of the Titanium shield. This a system that consists of tractor beams, satellite dishes, radar systems and other tech. This system is produced in collaboration with many partners such as the University of La Rochelle's School of Science or subcontractors such as the Radio Systems Company. Yet these products are assembled and distributed under the auspices of the Metatron Corporation.

Armoured Vehicles

Although general armoured vehicles are produced by other Oan companies, the Armoured Centipede is a special product of the Metatron Corp. These are automotive armoured vehicles that vary in purpose and build other than the fact that they are designed like a centipede. They are made up of many segments like a centipede. This has multiple practical advantages. They can move on many unconventional surfaces like a centipede. Compartments can be created and segments can be added on to increase or decrease the size of the centipede according to the function it must perform.

Robotics

The Metatron Corp is a titan of robotics. It manufactures mostly robotic arms used for assembly in .any manufacturing companies. Many of its other robotics products are prototypes. They are in the developmental stages and serve as a blueprints, while the main projects have not materialised.

Household Electronics

Its biggest section is the Household Electronics Division by some margin. It produces products ranging from kettles, to electric irons, to dishwashers, to stoves, to blenders, streamers and pressure cookers. This department experiences the most growth, by some margin, due its versatility and depth and range.

Consumer Electronics

The most famous area of development for the Metatron Corporation is its consumer electronics division. It is technically rathet similar from the Household Appliances division, but due to the rate of specialisation and focus on these products, the company has a separate division for consumer electronics. This is the cornerstone upkn which the company was founded. The Consumer Electronics division is built around smart phones and laptops and all their relevant accessories.

The Metatron Corporation has phased out many if its smartphone brands and types for the Lumo, Hua and the Light phones. The Metatron Lumo series is a make of transparent touchscreen smartphones. The Metatron Hua series is a make of touchscreen smartphones which bend or are elastic. The Metatron Light series is a make of touchscreen cellphones that are both transparent and elastic. All Metatron smartphones have an ROM of at least 1 gigabyte, a camera of 20 megapixels and are at least waterresistant if not altogether waterproof.

The Metatron Corporation also specialised in other consumer electronics such as Virtual reality goggles, and the Projector Bracelet. The Projector Bracelet is a bracelet that when worn can project an interactive image of a tablet or smart phone screen onto ones lower arm when worn. The product is in limited circulation and costs at least 1,000 kiribs. The technology is becoming more affordable as newer and better versions are released.

Finances

The Metatron Corporation is by far the largest company in the Oan Isles. It produces 10% of the Oan GDP. It has a total value of several hundreds of billions of kiribs. It does, however, suffer from losses and debts, especially after the merger with the Aerospace Company. This is due to the limited and specialised nature of the goods it produces. The Metatron Corporation is a gigantic company that dominates the economy and more importantly the private sector.

Research

The Metatron Corporation invests heavily in research and development. It is the sole partner of the University of La Rochelle's School of Science, one of the foremost schools of science on Urth. The Metatron Corporation aims to cultivate young scientists and inventors. Through the ULR's School of Science, the patented carbon fibre and artificial diamond production technology that is ubiquitous in Metatron Corporation products especially its Consumer Electronics, were developed. The Metatron Corporation has an in-house research and development division. It is in fact attributed with diluting the value of diamonds in the Oan Isles.

Expansion

The Metatron Corporation is a very large company, one that requires a lot of space and cheap, but efficient labour and easy access to resources. It aims to compete, if not altogether usurp Serenitech Industries. It is looking towards building a planned city in South Staynes called Metatron City to fully realise its goals of Urth-domination.
