The Morstaybishlian Empire was a large Empire that spanned a large section of the Auroran continent and oversea territories. It consisted of what is now Staynes, South Staynes, Caltharus, Kormistazm, which itself consists of modern day Emberwood Coast and Quartz Fern Coast. The empire also had lots of overseas territories

The Empire was founded in 1515 after King Lambertus III led Morstaybishlia to victory in the Battle for Caltharus. In the later stages of the 16th century, Lambertus III's grandson, Redrugus IX, led the Morstaybishlian Empire to victory, defeating Kormistazm

The population of the Empire has varied wildly over the almost half-millennia, as low as around 44,700,000 inhabitants in 1600 to as much as 254,000,000 in the year prior to its collapse. The cultural gap between the patriotically Marxist Norogradian population and the orthodox monarchy reached new highs in the 1950's when an Empire parade in Fort Sekan was assaulted by armed nationalists. The empire retaliated by tightening control over the region, enforcing strict control policies and a curfew to prevent any further uprising. This was ultimately ineffective and led to further tensions and hatred between the two ethnic groups. Further small attacks on Morstaybishlian servicemen and officials from the Norogradian nationalists were constant after, up until after the nation gained independence from the empire after its demise.

Collapse

As the 1960's rolled in came the anti-imperial sentiments of rock music, recreational drug use, and a new explosion of differing ideologies from outside the Empire. As these influences combined with the already roiling tensions of the various regions within the Empire, led to the the beginning of the end for the Auroran giant.

In the northwest, a popular movement around individual rights and freedom began to arise. With the birth of Chance Syng in 1952, however, the fate of that portion of the empire was sealed. In 1970, a popular movement of succession was all that was talked about in what was soon to be Norograd. Lord Thesius Crumpus Vorenstein, governor of what is now Emberwood Coast and Northern Quartz Fern Coast, cracked down on the protests that were flaring up around his estate with police. When they were just eighteen years old, Syng stood in front of an officer who had been attacking a man, and refused to move. Realizing what they were doing to their own community (most normal duty officers were recruited from the provinces they worked) and turned on the imperial forces. Three days later, on January 18th, 1971,Lord Voernstein was exiled and Syng, who'd lead several of the revolts before their incident in front of police, was then elected as temporary leader of what was briefly "New Staynes," then, after she decided to leave Norograd, finally settled in it's current borders as Emberwood Coast.
